Star Wars
May the 4th be with you

The unexpected success of Star Wars’ theatrical debut in 1977 changed the face of cinema forever. In parts fairy tale, Western and 1930s movie serial, the rousing space opera smashed all box office records, becoming a worldwide popular culture phenomenon and spawning one of the most successful movie franchises of all time.

In collaboration with The Walt Disney Company Southeast Asia, Royal Selangor presents an affectionate homage to this milestone in cinematic history.

Landspeeder Replica

Hovering on its repulsorlifts, Luke heads for the Jundland Wastes in his landspeeder in search of R2, its scanners picking up a telltale signature ahead. Could it be the escaped droid? As C-3PO guns the thrust turbines, little does the protocol droid or Luke realise that they are being watched.

Royal Selangor’s 1/18 scale replica of Luke’s trusty X-34 landspeeder, with pinpoint detail in satin finish pewter, floats tantalisingly above its sleek display stand. The stand’s mirrored surface accentuates this unique hover feature, whilst suggesting the mirage effect of desert conditions.

Greatest Bromance

The enduring friendship between Han and Chewbacca is the stuff of legends. The smuggler turn rebel and the Wookiee warrior have been with one another through thick and thin, from Carbonite freezing to taking back the Falcon. The other half of the dynamic duo, Han Solo is meticulously rendered, from costume and sidearm to facial expression. Caught in yet another gunfight, the Corellian smuggler leans forward, coolly aiming his blaster pistol at the enemy whether it is bounty hunters or Stormtroopers. Completing this Han-Chewbacca homage is the ship that made the Kessel Run in less than twelve parsecs. The battered, scarred hull of the much-customised Millennium Falcon is recreated on a 1/144 scale replica and features a landing gear which retracts when the included stand is inserted.
